In early 2013, China plans to erect the world’s tallest skyscraper – in a record 90 days. Named Sky City, the structure will tower 838 meters (220 stories) above the ground and house residents as well as offices, schools, hospitals, shops and restaurants. An average of five floors a day will be raised by the construction company, Broad Sustainable Building, via prefabricated modular technology that is dramatically less expensive than conventional construction technology.
